Jamal's formative years navigating the challenges of urban life in Montgomery County and Northeast DC, coupled with his harrowing experience of incarceration and homelessness, have instilled an unparalleled understanding of the obstacles faced by Black youth.

His professional expertise in design thinking, agile methodologies, and advanced technologies - from cybersecurity to blockchain - empowers him to develop innovative, holistic solutions. By fusing this technical mastery with lived experience, Jamal and The Troubleshooter team are redefining the standard for authentic, impactful community partnership.

Founded by Jamal (YahMalek) Okosun, a Black entrepreneur and believer in Christ Jesus, our organization is uniquely positioned to serve underserved communities with authenticity and relatability. Jamal’s upbringing in the urban streets of Montgomery County and Northeast Washington, coupled with his transformative journey through a 4-year-and-9-month incarceration in Maryland’s penal system and recent experience with displacement at the 801 East Men’s Shelter in Southeast DC, brings unparalleled insight into the challenges faced by our target demographic.

With expertise in Enterprise Design Thinking, Agile methodologies, and a vast knowledge of Information Technology—spanning InfoSec to Blockchain—Jamal brings a holistic approach to solving societal challenges. By combining these professional capabilities with lived experience, we aim to redefine community partnership standards and create impactful, sustainable change.
